The Reds have won 3 straight spring training games. Hopes are rising in Goodyear, Arizona. Mark Sheldon, Reds beat writer, wrote about the relationship between camaraderie and winning. Joey Votto channeled his best Toby Keith impression with his "I wanna be a Cowboy" rendition at the "Reds Got Talent" presentation. Alejo Lopez stole the show with his mariachi band. Will Myers won the 3pt shooting contest. A cornhole competition is sure to follow. I recently had an extended conversation with Hall of Famer Barry Larkin. Larkin emphasized the importance of establishing a winning tradition. He pointed out that over the past 5 or so years only Chattanooga (2021 58-54) and Dayton (2022 67-61; 2021 65-55) have had winning seasons. He makes a solid argument for keeping this strong contingent of Reds prospects in the minor leagues so they learn to win together. It would appear at this point that Louisville, under the leadership of Pat Kelly, could be loaded with talent. As the season progresses and eventual injuries occur, the Reds will be able to add considerable talent at almost all positions from the Louisville club. TJ Friedl made 5 trips down I -71 last year before establishing himself as a Reds regular. This is one of the most difficult decisions for an organization to make. Will the Reds err on the side of caution and delay their eventual rise to the show? Jonathan India skipped 3A altogether and made the club three years ago. Follow the Reds closely for the answer to this question. YIB-G⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾
