Ho, Ho, Ho, it's time for Santa's Market Holiday Crafts and Gifts Festival in Fort Loramie, Ohio. Courtney Prueter, Fort Loramie, is the organizer of this annual event and she invites the community to shop local and enjoy the popular festival that will take place Sunday, December 6th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Due to popular demand she has moved the event to the Fort Loramie High School. "At the end of last year I was approached by many crafters who wished to participate in 2016. So many in fact, that it seemed like a wise decision to find a larger location which would offer room for new vendors and a little more wiggle room for shoppers." In addition to over 65 vendors, shoppers can purchase food made by the Fort Loramie High School FCCLA. Children are able to enjoy the pride of shopping at the Santa Shop. Local organizations have been donating gifts and trinkets that will be priced according to a childs budget. Make and Take crafts and balloon animals will also be available. New this year is professional photos with Santa. Photographer Meghan (Luthman) Gorman will have a holiday backdrop and will offer a free sitting fee with Santa from 12 - 2. Parents will receive an online link to view the photos and can then purchase online if they wish.
Admission to the festival is $2 or 2 canned food items with all proceeds being donated to St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank. "The need for assistance in our area is real. I'm proud to say that last year the festival donated 15 bags of groceries and up to $700 to St. Vincent and Rustic Hope. Prueter believes in shopping local and stated, "When I started this event 3 years ago I wanted to highlight the home based businesses of myself and my friends. I'm happy that the community responded so positively. When they shop at the festival they can feel good about supporting a small business, donating to local charities and spending a fun day with family and friends."
