Big News Concerning 9th Annual Diamond Club Dinner Auction!CRAIG STAMMEN has announced that he has been able to secure yet another fantastic guest to be interviewed by DAVE ROSS at the gala on January 13 at the Versailles K of C Hall. ERIC DAVIS was a star centerfielder for the Reds for many seasons in the 1980s and 1990s. Blending excellent power hitting with Gold Glove fielding and superior speed on the base paths, Davis could do it all! Injuries plagued him throughout his career, even suffering through colon cancer in 1997 before making an absolutely startling comeback with the Baltimore Orioles, hitting the game-winning home run in a 1997 ALCS game. Eric's character is witnessed by his winning the Roberto Clemente Award in 1998. This honor goes annually to the player who "best exemplifies the game of baseball, sportsmanship, community involvement, and the individual's contribution to his team." Davis will be joining Hall of Fame sportswriter HAL McCOY, VHS volleyball coach KENZIE BRUGGEMAN, and STAMMEN in what might be the best lineup in the 9-year history of this event. No doubt, Eric will have some interesting stories to share with us during his interview and afterwards in the Bullpen Session. Tickets are once again $50 each and can be purchased by calling call any one of the following Diamond Club regulars: JOHN KINDELL (937) 877-0070, BERNIE KNAPKE (937) 459-8866, TED LYONS (937) 538-1145, MAX KINDELL (937) 418-6402, MATT WATREN (937) 658-2205 or TONY ROSE (937) 632-3132.
