The 14th annual Premier Health Flyin’ to the Hoop Basketball Showcase is now upon us. Another stellar lineup with nationally-ranked teams and plenty of 5 & 4-star talent will be on display (Here is the SCHEDULE).
Here’s some highlights for the weekend to look forward to:
- The Saturday evening match-up of Wayne (OH) vs. IMG Academy (FL) will be a first for the Premier Health Flyin’ to the Hoop in that it will be a FATHER vs. SON matchup. Travis Trice will be coaching the Wayne warriors against his son D’Mitrik Trice who graduated from Wayne last year and is now at IMG Academy (FL). D’Mitrik helped this same Wayne team win a Div. I State Championship last year as well as knock-off the #1 team (Findlay Prep, NV) in the Nation at last year’s Flyin’ to the Hoop in an epic showdown.
- Advanced Prep (TX) – who plays 2 games at this year’s event - starting 5 roster players include: 3 – 5 stars, 1 – 4 star and 1-3 star players on the national recruiting scene. 2 are undeclared while 3 of those 5 will be attending Alabama, Baylor & Cincinnati.
- Top-ranked Ohio teams participating in this Year’s event include:
o 9 of the Top 10 Div. I Teams
o 3 of the Top 5 Div. II Teams - Sunday afternoon’s matchup of St. Vincent-St. Mary’s vs. Roger Bacon has been dubbed “The Rematch.” It is the FIRST time the two teams have played each other since Roger Bacon pulled the epic upset over the Lebron James-led SVSM team in the 2002 Div. II OH State Championship Game.
- Friday night’s national powerhouse matchup pits Top 10 teams La Lumiere (IN) vs Prolific Prep (CA) in their only meeting this year.
- Over 10 5-Star and 14 4-Star players will be participating.
